SKYLIGHTS.
The various housing solutions have different solutions for natural illumination.
Moreover, the way new materials have emerged can offer several alternatives for the same solution.
Generall y when possible, the skylights are made for translucent material with the same profile as the sheetmetal for perfect overlays.
Among the most common materials in our buildings we outline:
-Polyester.This material is manufactured from polyester resin reinforced with fiberglass.
To improve the behavior of the sheets, the surfaces are coated with a special polyester layer called GEL-COAT, whose photoinitiators are activated by high-power ultraviolet rays that cause curing process.
The GEL COAT protects the surface from the elements, ensuring the same level of transparency with the passage of time..
Available colors: natural (or transparent), opal (or white diffuser)..
-Compact Polycarbonate. They are translucent corrugated sheets 1 mm. thick, obtained by extrusion of polycarbonate, witch is a thermoplastic polymer hard and transparent in its natural form.
The combination of its outstanding resistance to impact through out a wide range of temperatures (from -40 º C to 135 º C) and excellent optical quality, makes it an ideal material for skylights.
The exposed surface incorporates an ultraviolet protection from sunlight radiation.
Available colors: natural (or transparent), opal (or white diffuser) and ice.
-Cellular polycarbonate. Starting from the raw material described above, during the extrusion process profiles are obtained with cells, with thicknesses ranging from 6 to 16 mm.
The air trapped in the cells to these plates act as insulation. Also these compartments significantly increase the sheets mecanical resistance.
Available colors: natural (or transparent), opal (or white diffuser) and ice.
